Trisha Garlock, President

First and foremost, we hope this email finds you safe, healthy and doing as well as possible during these strange and difficult days. We have a strong and resilient community and we thank each and every one of you for stepping up to support our schools, students and our most vulnerable families.

At SchoolsRule, the health and safety of our community is of utmost importance. With the ever-changing situation surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we have made the decision to cancel our 8th annual 2020 fundraising event, originally scheduled for June 29th.  We look forward to seeing everyone at our 2021 event but meanwhile, our mission to ensure equitable educational opportunities for every public student in Marin continues and is more important than ever!

We hope that things will be back to normal soon, but for now, on behalf of all of our Marin school foundations, districts, schools and students, we wish you all safety and health!

Schools are Closed but Learning Continues!

Online Classrooms and Virtual Learning
As all of our schools transition to virtual learning for the remainder of the school year, the continued and selfless service of our educators is essential to the health and wellbeing of our community.  Larkspur's Hall Middle School Principal, Eric Saibel, writes about the urgent priority to continue to support student learning and wellness during these unprecedented circumstances in this Marin Voice article featured in the Marin Independent Journal.

Virtual Learning in Action

Virtual classrooms
We are amazed at the herculean efforts of our teachers, staff, administration, community organizations and parents to shift, overnight, from classroom instruction to virtual instruction.  Literacy, technology, arts and technology programs continue to thrive in all of our schools!  From recorded story time and art instruction videos to realtime class meetings with teachers via video conferencing, our students continue to benefit from these important programs while our schools and foundations continue their work to ensure that every student has the technology and resources necessary for remote learning.
