Program Spotlight:
HeadsUp Sam Rafael Public Education Foundation

Making the Future with the Davidson Middle School Maker Program
The Davidson Makers Program is a key component of a STEAM education which helps prepare students for the 21st-century workforce, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and encourage innovation and creativity. Students are fortunate to have the opportunity to explore their ideas and interests with the resources of a well-outfitted Makerspace in a supportive and enriching learning environment. The program is guided by a supportive teacher, students work with a “do it yourself” approach and cultivate creativity, curiosity, and meaning, developingDavidson students into inventors.
Mr. Singer, the Makers Program teacher, along with the Davidson and SRCS team, hopes that students learn and practice the constant design process that changes their thinking from, "Is this good enough?" to "How can I make this better?" Students should feel inspired to build a community that allows them to encourage and support each other, while also boosting students’ confidence in their ability to accomplish difficult, complex things.
Davidson Middle School students are benefiting from the many programs that are funded by the district's public school foundation, HeadsUp. These programs include the Makers Program, the Debate Team, the Davidson Marching and Jazz Band.
SchoolsRule is proud to help support these important programs at Davidson Middle School through our 2023 funding to HeadsUp.
